The Boy Who Cried Wolf

As soon as upon a time, there was a shepherd boy named Asif who lived in a village in one of the many stunning valleys in Northern Pakistan. Asif’s village changed into placed at the foothills of Pakistan’s famous mountain variety known as Kurra Kurram. Those mountains are very high and really naked without a plants in anyway. However it's far a totally exclusive scene inside the valleys. There are fast-flowing rivers, like the Swat River, which runs from the snow-protected mountains to create stunning waterfalls and lakes underneath. There's lush inexperienced grass; and inside the springtime the ground is blanketed in brightly colored flowers and hundreds upon loads of butterflies take to the air growing a in reality heavenly location.

There was another village similarly up the valley wherein Asif’s cousin lived. Looking down from that village, the timber and houses below seemed like little toys. Asif constantly enjoyed this scene each time he visited his cousin, Hamza, and would often search for his very own house in the village some distance below. The young boy marvelled at how small and remote all of it seemed.

Asif’s father, Ahmed, owned a small herd of goats which he could take out of the village for grazing early each morning. Asif frequently liked to accompany his father on those trips as there has been no faculty within the small village. Asif’s mom continually made them a lunch of meat curry, chapattis and parathas, and a lovely milk drink referred to as lussie. She might wrap the lunch in a rectangular of cloth and Asif would convey it with him to preserve it safe until it become time to eat.

Asif become a very lively boy and would run around after the goats and maintain them in check. His father was very thrilled and thought that such training might make Asif a superb shepherd whilst the boy became older.

At midday, Asif and his father would unfold out a roll of material beneath the shade of a tree and sit down down for his or her lunch. The younger boy continually enjoyed his paratha and his lussie drink. Whilst eating, both father and son could maintain a watchful eye at the goats to make certain that none wondered far from the herd.

They might always go back domestic before sunset as there was no strength in the village and that they had to consume their dinner earlier than the night set in. Asif went to bed quickly after his dinner due to the fact there was little to do within the darkish, and also due to the fact he had to wake very early each morning to milk the goats before taking them out to graze.

Asif enjoyed the lambing season whilst the goats and sheep gave start to their kids and lambs. The young boy cherished the little lambs and carried them around underneath his arm, imitating their tiny bleating sounds… ‘Maa..Maa..Maa..Maa.’

Hamza could often go to from the hills above, then each boys could bring the lambs around and feed them soft meals from their hands and cuddle up near them to stay heat each time the climate became bloodless.

While Asif changed into older his father gave him the duty of searching after the herd. Hamza frequently joined Asif and the two boys would stand up early to exploit the goats and then take the herd out of the village for grazing. This have become a habitual for each boys and the times and nights handed slowly.

Until, one dark night, a wolf attacked the chickens and goats belonging to a farmer who lived close by. This brought about a good deal problem in the village and so it turned into decided that  guys might be published on protect to kill the wolf if it attacked once more.

The wolf did attack once more, however this time the men shot and killed the beast and the village soon returned to its peaceful country yet again.

Sometime later, while the two boys had been sitting on a rock in the meadow looking the goats munching away at the fresh grass, Hamza said to Asif, ‘The goats are grazing luckily however we're continually so bored. It isn't always honest.’

Asif notion approximately this for a second then responded, ‘We must do some thing thrilling then. What lets do?’

Naughty Hamza grinned from ear to ear. ‘We should make fools of the human beings of the village,’ he stated at closing.

‘How can we try this?’ requested Asif.

Hamza went directly to remind Asif approximately the night time the wolf attacked the chickens and goats and how the men have been posted to shield the village with guns. ‘Then the wolf did attack and the guys killed it! That changed into very interesting!’ exclaimed Hamza. ‘but then the whole lot have become non violent and uninteresting once more.’

Asif remembered because it become the most effective thrilling aspect that had befell in the village for a very long time.

‘ what i am thinking,’ continued Hamza. ‘If we shout and scream and say, “The wolf is attacking again! Help! Help!” then we would see how the people inside the village could run to shop us.’

However it is very bad to tell lies,’ stated Asif, who become by no means sure about his cousin’s naughty plan.

‘it's far only a shaggy dog story,’ insisted Hamza. ‘Don’t you need to see their worried faces as they run to help us? It will be so funny.’

‘And after they discover that there is no wolf and they see us guffawing at them, they will be very annoyed with us,’ stated Asif. But even as he said this, Asif had to admit that it'd indeed be very humorous to peer the appears on the villagers’ faces as they bumped into the meadow. He also had to admit that it changed into very dull looking the goats bite on the grass all day. ‘ok,’ he stated at last, ‘how do we do it?’

Hamza explained his plan and the two boys found themselves giggling and rubbing their palms with glee on the idea of making a laugh of the unsuspecting villagers.

The next morning, after milking the goats, the 2 boys led the herd into the meadow to graze. After taking part in their tasty lunch, packed properly for them by Asif’s mother, they determined to perform their naughty plan.

Hamza hid himself in the back of a bush whilst Asif ran right down to the village shouting at the top of his voice, ‘help us! Help us! The wolf is attacking Hamza! Please help us!’

As quickly because the villagers heard Asif’s cries for help, they picked up their sticks and axes and ran in the direction of the meadow. ‘where is the wolf?’ requested one guy. ‘How did he attack Hamza?’ asked every other. ‘Did the wolf drag him away like he did with my goats and chickens? Inform us, in which is Hamza?’

The villagers have been very worried as they searched all about for the injured boy.

It became then that Hamza jumped out from his hiding region. ‘Welcome. Thank you for coming,’ said the cheeky boy with a massive grin upon his face, ‘but there's no wolf here. He ran away once I informed him that the villagers have been coming to kill him.’ Then Hamza fell to his knees and burst out guffawing. When Asif noticed the looks of situation and panic at the villagers’ faces he too burst out giggling and started out rolling about within the grass.

The villagers were very angry with the men, and as they walked faraway from the meadow they promised to inform Asif’s father about his son’s depraved behaviour.

When Ahmed found what his son had done he became very disenchanted indeed. He dragged the two boys before the gang of villagers and made them both apologise for his or her sneaky trick and promise in no way to do this sort of factor again.

Some months exceeded and existence again to ordinary. But one day, as Hamza and Asif have been tending to the goats in the meadow, a fierce wolf got here around the hill and tried to pull one of the goats away. Hamza jumped to his toes and ran after the wolf to scare it away. However the fierce wolf truely dropped the goat and got a maintain of Hamza’s leg as a substitute.

Asif changed into terrified at the sight of his pal being dragged away through the wolf and fast ran towards the village screaming, ‘humans of the village, please come quickly! The wolf is dragging Hamza away! Please assist us!’

One of the villagers stated, ‘We aren't going to be fooled once more! Pass back in your goats.’

‘Please!’ cried Asif. ‘i am telling the reality. Come and help Hamza earlier than it's miles too late!’

A kindly villager determined to take a look at the threshold of the meadow and there he noticed Hamza with his leg trapped in the wolf’s powerful jaws. ‘Asif is telling the reality!’ he cried. ‘Come assist at once!’

The villagers grabbed their sticks and axes and ran to assist poor Hamza. And whilst the wolf noticed the gang going for walks closer to him, he permit pass of the boy’s leg and disappeared into the woodland.

Guys picked Hamza up by means of his shoulders and they all returned to the village. The boy’s leg become very badly injured and he was in a excellent deal of ache. Asif become close to tears and asked the villagers, ‘Why did you not come sooner? Why did you now not accept as true with me?’

A girl advanced. ‘You lied to us as soon as before,’ she explained. ‘that is why we did not believe you. Do you notice now why it is inaccurate to tell lies? You must never behave in this sort of way for it reasons mistrust.’

Asif looked at his injured cousin, and at the villagers who had stored the boy from the wolf, and he knew then that he might by no means tell a single lie ever once more.
